The Monroe Local Scholarship Application is now available! A majority of the scholarships are due April 23rd, 2021, unless otherwise specified.

The first page of the Local Scholarship Application is divided into two columns:

1. To apply to the scholarships in the LEFT column, use the Local Scholarship Application. All of these scholarships are due April 23rd.
2. The scholarships in the RIGHT column have their own applications and different due dates.
   1. A link to the OSAC application is provided on the local application for Margaret E. Hull and Monroe Tree Farm – which is due March 1st.
   2. Separate applications are attached here for the Lois Braswell (due March 12th) and Class of 1970 Scholarships.
   3. If you apply to any scholarships in the RIGHT column you still need to check them off on the first page of the Local Scholarship Application so we know you applied.
3. Remember, all of these scholarships are just for Monroe High School students, so there is a good chance you will get a scholarship (or multiple) if you apply!
4. One last note – all of these applications are fillable PDFs, you just need to download them.

OnPoint Community Credit Union Scholar Program – $1,000-$5,000 – Deadline: April 30th, 2021

OnPoint Community Credit Union sponsors the Scholar Program, recognizing Scholar Athletes and Activity Scholars who are graduating seniors at OSAA member schools.

The Scholar Program recognizes graduating seniors who have achieved a 3.50 or higher unweighted cumulative GPA and earned a varsity letter in an OSAA-sanctioned sport or competed in an OSAA-sanctioned activity.

All graduating seniors in the Scholar Program are eligible to apply for one of six college scholarships – two winners will receive a $5,000 scholarship and four winners will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. Winners will be selected based on success in the classroom, leadership in the community, how participating in OSAA activities has either taught them a lesson or helped them achieve their goals and two letters of recommendation.

The 2021 Scholar Program scholarship application is now open! Applications will be accepted through Friday, April 30, 2021.

2021 Junction City Lions Club (Monroe Scholarship) – $500 – Deadline: May 21st, 2021

ELIGIBILITY:

1.  Scholarship is open to all Class of 2021 Monroe graduating seniors with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
2.  The Graduate demonstrates a sincere desire to continue their education in an approved program at a University, College or Vocational School, in the broad field of Medicines.  Preferably within the State of Oregon.
3. Submit a completed application, including the required essay of approximately 500 words, a certified copy of their high school transcript and a list of any community service they have performed in the last 12 months.  Completed applications must be submitted to their high school counselor by May 21^st, 2021.

2021 Virginia Welch Scholarship – Deadline: April 9th, 2021

Each year the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center Auxiliary awards the Virginia Welch Scholarship to students planning to pursue a career in a medically-related field. The scholarship is named in honor of Virginia Welch, a head nurse who became Good Samaritan’s administrator in 1951 and served until 1967. To date, more than $220,000 has been awarded to students pursuing a career in health care.

High school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in, or accepted to, a program to pursue a career in a medically related field in a hospital setting are eligible to apply.

Applications must be postmarked by April 9, 2021.

Abby’s Closet Dreams Scholarship – $2,500 (2) – Deadline: April 16th, 2021

Abby’s Closet is pleased to offer two, $2,500 scholarships to female high school seniors attending school in Oregon or Washington. Tell us about your dreams and aspirations for the future. The applicants that best embody the spirit and mission of Abby’s Closet will receive the scholarship awards and attend a private giveaway to select a perfect prom dress and accessories. Applications are due by midnight on April 16, 2021. Winners will be notified in May.
